Sonos, the networked speaker specialist, is to sue Google over patent infringements and is seeking the ban of Google speakers, smartphones and laptops in the US.

Google has been blatantly and knowingly copying our patented technology," Sonos CEO Patrick Spence told the Times. "Despite our repeated and extensive efforts over the last few years, Google has not shown any willingness to work with us on a mutually beneficial solution. We're left with no choice but to litigate."

Good luck with that! (MY lawyer is bigger than YOUR lawyer!)

ha!

But there is the very real possibility that infringements have occurred as it is all to easy (and common) for coders to lift a little here, lift a little there using a piece of code they didn't write, simply because they were so busy doing everything else ...

The number of the kind of suits over the last 20 years is mind boggling ... and some of the settlements and JUDGEMENTS have been eye-watering!
