Google's proposal over antitrust search to allow competitors to bid to position on search in Europe on Android is not helping, says the European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager.
“We may see a show of rivals in the shopping box. We may see a pickup when it comes to clicks for merchants. But we still do not see much traffic for viable competitors when it comes to shopping comparison,” she told a Web Summit conference.

Any surprise? Whatever g can do to minimize competition (the bid for position ... which pays g in the process) is merely judicial appeasement and NO COMPLIANCE AS INTENDED.

No surprise here. I didn't think it was a good idea, but, I suspect it was meant to appease the EU.
