Google has said there are new tools coming to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and YouTube to help users control privacy.
These include: Google Maps incognito mode which won't save destinations and searches to a user account. YouTube gains a rolling auto-delete history. "Set the time period to keep your data — 3 months, 18 months, or until you delete it, just like Location History and Web & App Activity — and we’ll take care of the rest,"
Assistant history can now be deleted through voice control, although you can only do that for the past 7-days. Beyond that and you have to go into the Assistant menu.

Whilst I welcome these additions, i'd like to see the ability to entirely stop the history and for the options to be opt-in only. ie, none of it is saved unless you choose to opt in.

Personally I'd have reservations based on what they don't present privacy options for.

I see in the YouTube comment history that not all your comments are listed, so not all of them can be easily deleted. Quirky.

Seems like the company selling the poison is now selling the remedy. Though, stepping away from their insidious data collection is a step in the right direction.
