Google has filed an appeal against the E.U.'s €4.3billion, ($4.9billion) fine for allegedly using Android's dominance to stop rivals from innovating.

The company was given until the end of October to make changes to Android that would satisfy the EU's demands. It told the Financial Times that it had no plans to ask the EU to change that deadline.

They'd have to appeal so as to try to forestall similar legal action in other jurisdictions..so this is unsurprising..
Now to see if an appeal makes the fine "suspensive" ( important for the 3rd and 4th quarter figures ) , or not..

The BBC article does not say..and the FT article ( which contains the Google statement ) that the BBC reference is "paywalled"..
I do not intend to use the FT enough ( 1st time this year that I have visited them ) to subscribe..

Addition ..Yes Google did face similar in Russia last year, but there are plenty of other jurisdictions that could make a case..
Not China ( G are now "in bed "with them , albeit unofficially )..But the world is large..
