Alphabet has reported Q1 revenues up 22%, year on year, to $24.75 billion, and a profit of $5.42 billion.
Of course, most of that comes from its ad revenues, $21,411 billion, so it's still heavily dependent upon that side of the business, so it's keen to show it can move the risk.
Its non advertising business, known as "other revenue" shows a 49.4% jump to $3.10 billion, with "other bets" up to $244 million, with an increased operating loss of $855 million, up from $774 million a year ago. Its employee count was up to 73,992, from 64,115 a year ago.
