It's also interesting to note that the market for these devices is set to be much weaker than forecast.

It's also interesting to note that the market for these devices is set to be much weaker than forecast.

When (if) I am at the gym, I see the occasional smart watch, or the older health wrist bands, otherwise I never see them worn by anyone and do not know anyone who owns a smart watch, and most of my friends are tech wise.

I think a contributing factor is Google's mandate to stay relevant in all arenas and that Android already fits this medium so well, regardless of the (perceived?) success.

I know a handful of people that had a smartwatch, and I don't see them being used frequently. The only person I saw using it frequently was a bathroom fitter, and he was forever having to charge it.
From what I can see, it's one of those geeky things that appeals to a smaller audience, and, as far as I can see, is avoided by youngsters.
It's one of those things that is fashionable for geeks, imho.
