Google Fiber Drops Free Internet Offer to New Subscribers in Kansas City

It seems the free Internet offer from Google Fiber in Kansas City is now no longer an option for new subscribers.
I was surprised it lasted this long!
The free option, which is still available in Fiber markets Austin and Provo, Utah, required a $300 installation fee but no monthly payments thereafter.
They've made a couple of other recent changes as well: * added a VOIP telephone service option ($10/month) * added a new 100 up/100 down service ($50/month vs $70/month for gigabit)
