Google's latest information on IPv6 takeup shows rapid increases in recent months on its interactive stats and graph, and for the first time the percentage of users accessing Google over IPv6 exceeds 10%.

What's also interesting is the uptake by country, with some obvious trends, such as the U.S., Japan, Belgium, and Greece being at the top of the list of adopters, and some much lower adopters, such as the UK at only 2.9%. I guess it depends on the number of IPv4's already allocated and available, too.

Quick detour to my test site-- the only one with a dedicated IPv6 address* and therefore the only one whose logs show addresses in both forms-- suggests 10-25% IPv6 traffic. (The number is vague because, being a test site, it's just robots and type-ins.)

Seems like the list would be topped by the richer European countries, since they're the ones most likely to have used up their IPv4 allotment, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

* I requested one a few months back, precisely because it's a test site, so I could see what looks different.
