According to the report, this was a Motorola patent submission in 2012, which Google owned at that time.

I did have to pinch myself to see if this was April 1.

...Google has been awarded a patent for the unnamed product that does exactly that, in addition to letting you know when your friends are around so your smelly self can steer clear of them. No, we're not making this up.

"A device is provided which includes an activity sensor, a communication portion, and a route suggesting portion. The activity sensor can detect physical activity of a user of a device. The communication portion may provide access one or more social networks via a communication network, in which the device may communicate with a social network of contacts.
