Good for Yorkshire.

It's only a short train ride from where I'm based too.

Note that:

Digital Utopias is a one-day conference which will inspire and incite debate about how new technologies are enabling creativity across the arts. The conference aims to capture topical and diverse approaches to curation, archiving, collecting and creating from a range of art forms, from the visual arts to theatre. [...] Digital Utopias is one of a series of three [UK] Arts Council events supported by Google.

rather than being an actual Google conference.

The Google execs have obviously never heard 'The Dalesman's Litany';
From Hull, Halifax and Hell, Oh Lord, deliver me!

There are worse places. Slough perhaps.

This is an Arts Council conference sponsored by Google. As ronin says, it's not a Google conference. ;) It's not accurate reporting by the original source, KCFM.

Ah that's a better link, when it was first announced on the BBC's Look North lunchtime news as a confernece the only two links I could find was the one I gave and a horrible one from the Hull Daily Mail that took ages to load with stuff being loaded from all over the place, a very, very bad user experience and very common with Local World Ltd.

Journalists love to say Google Conference in the headline. It'll get more attention than an Arts Council Conference. Having said that, it's an example of inaccurate reporting, and could be classed by Google itself as content to be demoted. lol

>Mod Note Which reminds me, i'll edit the title of this thread.

Given that it is Arts Council..remember to stay upwind of the joss-sticks..and you won't need to bring your own whale-song..
