The method of the invention allows willing readers to pay a fee for having posted comments to an online publication of an internet content provider rendered distinctive, the distinctive comments being altered from a default comment format so that the altered comments are distinctive relative to a default format. Readers can comment on a news story or blog entry, and the like, whether or not they read the online publication to which comments are associated.

I'm guessing Google is planning to roll out a comment platform which can make publishers/Google money and be tied into G+ somehow.

Chuckles! A Patent for "bolf-face yellowpage listing" in comments (example, not a specification). What will be patented next? The "fall"? As in when apples do the Newton thing and one pays to watch it via the web?

The idiots in the patent office just keep giving out dumb patents. They are Google struck and just give them a blanket pass.

Next up, Google will patent how you look a computer screen.
