Just saw this commercial for the first time, pretty amusing. Looks like Microsoft is taking off the gloves.

The irony of course is that there's a pretty huge overlap between people who don't know that there exists a function called "search engine", of which g### is just one version ... and those who similarly don't know that {insert-name-here} is just one version of the "browser" function.

Bing is just pointing out the obvious, so for informational purposes I suppose it works but unless they offered a more competitive advertising model like fixed click prices they are just a "me too" thingy.

As someone who uses shopping feeds *prodigiously* in both search engines, there's a whole lotta hypocrisy (and more than a little desperation) in that post.

I don't think bing is desperate, I think they are more than happy to let google be the pioneer in this market. Playing the role of #2 keeps them out of the sights of the usual cast of regulatory characters, they can toy with google a bit, let the pioneer bear the brunt of the hatchet attacks.
