Google's Alan Eustace, Senior VP, Engineering & Research yesterday on the official Google Blog (way down at the end of the post) about the collecting of unencrypted WiFi payload data via Street View cars.

"...a number of external regulators have inspected the data as part of their investigations (seven of which have now been concluded). It’s clear from those inspections that while most of the data is fragmentary, in some instances entire emails and URLs were captured, as well as passwords."

I thought as much way back when the story first broke.

Todays routers are extremely fast, and capturing data for a few minutes driving slowly past would have involved megabytes.
