Mr. Schmidt goes to Washington, again.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any discussion of this here, that Eric Schmidt is serving on President Elect Obama's economic advisory board, along with 16 other "financial and economic experts" (according to the NY Times here [nytimes.com]).

I've never thought of Mr. Schmidt as a financial or economic expert, though I believe he probably has one of the greatest minds in this country for technology related issues. This is encouraging to me because I believe that technology will play a vital role in getting the U.S. out of this economic mess that we're in.

Any thoughts on this?
