Google Browser to Compete with Internet Explorer

If Google is going to compete with Microsoft in many ways, surely it should go beyond its toolbar installed into IE and produce its own browser?

IE has had so many bugs over the years. How hard would it impact MFST if GOOG took over the browser market the way it did the search market?

Google employs a significant number of Firefox developers, and is the principal source of funding for the Mozilla Foundation. As a non-profit foundation, Mozilla cannot technically be bought by Google, but to all intents and purposes, Google "owns" Firefox.
