NASA’s Ames Research Center plans a "major announcement involving Google" today, and although the pair have provided no details, the announcement could relate to a previously signed deal signed calling for Google to develop up to 1 million square feet at NASA's site.

NASA and Google signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2005 for development of part of Moffett Field, a former US Navy base, closed by the Navy in 1994 and made available for civilian use. It currently serves as a civilian airport, along with being home to NASA's Ames Research Center.

google will handle the data I bet. They'll have a direct feed to all the satellites /telescopes and sort it all on their network.

Is Nasa's info public anyway, given that is fed funded?
