Google admitted it had been spending to much time on new services to the detriment of its core search engine,

Realizing that its myriad services are confusing users, it will focus on refining what it has.

None else then Microsoft will ease with this statement , fearing google to launch its own free OS and other its dominant niche areas.

Seems good step , they were making too many competitors , dont know scenario about famous google spend time on our own projects called 20% percent time

will help them to refocus thats for sure

cool! Now the supplementals will be fixed--just kidding. Well, sort of kidding anyway. Good move Google. There's a reason why most companies focus on a few core areas of business; not everyone can, or wants to be GE.

Most importantly, Google (IMO) was hurting its brand with minor programs that didn't work well, or really were nothing special. The problem could be that they have many bright people there, and everyone wants to show that he/she is smart and wants to make a name, so they thought about inventing stuff, not actually filling a serious need. If I had a company, I would NOT hire only the top of the class. They are hard to manage, egos clash, and day-to-day business bores them, yet someone has to do it.
