Does MSN interpret <br />/<br> as space? For example, does MSN see the following three exactly the same?

keyword1 keyword1
keyword1<br>keyword2
keyword1<br />keyword2

... or these are interpreted (slightly)differently?

That is not correct -- <br> is or should be interpreted as delimiter between text to avoid indexing "keyword1keyword2" as one keyword.

<br/> should be treated the same as <br>

All of the following:

keyword1 keyword1
keyword1<br>keyword2
keyword1<br />keyword2

are treated exactly the same by MSNBot.
