According to this article [seattlepi.nwsource.com], the beta version of their next IM product includes a small box off to the side where a search function that spawns a browser window will reside.

The next iteration isn't going live though until next year (I believe), but it should help bring more eyeballs to MSN Search.

Good move.

It's also unbelievable as to how many sites have been made just to make a profit from adsense!

How true. You gotta believe the folks at the plex did not have that in mind. Adsense is an awesome concept; contextual advertising displayed on sites people visit. Makes perfect sense until the real world takes over. Theres something about sites created just to display adsense that seems a bit, odd?

Might be so if this is just a matter of the MSN IM client. I'm quite familiar with the msn.com search function. However, I'd never allow an IM client on my box. And in the IM world, how popular is MSN? My guess is "not much".

MSN IM is the preferred client among most people I know (unless you count Trillian). IM is VERY popular among young people (I'm not young but I use IM) :)
