Problem installing Apache 2 in WinXP SP2

The service wont get listed in the apache console

When i finish the Apache 2.0.55 installation in WinXP SP2, the Apache console shows NO services to be started/stoped.

Why?

Apache console? You mean the Apache Services Module? Sounds like a possible installation issue. Try uninstalling, get a fresh download and start again. Also, make sure you meet the necessary requirements on that pc:

[httpd.apache.org...]

there is an option to select whether to install apache as a service or not, are you sure this was selected?

think the wording is along the lines of install apache for everyone or just me
