Apache server won't restart after crash

After my system (it HAD wamp) accidentally crashed, Apache won't restart no matter what or how I uninstall and reinstall either Apache 2.0.55 or phpdev 4.23. When I try to start Apache the console appears only briefly to announce "Unclean shutdown of previous run." Obviously I can't connect to localhost either. I've deleted EVERY Apache-related file I can find, plus php.ini.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: After uninstalling and reinstalling over and over and deleting all files every time, installing phpdev 5 worked. No idea why. Thanks to those who've helped so far.

You can usually run Apache in console mode (DOS Window). There are some useful hints there. You can also review your error.log to see why it would not start. If you recently made a change to any configuration files, change it back and see what happens.

Hello

I wouldnt recommend deleting and reinstalling apache again and again, rahter i would first review apache's error log's latest entries to find out whats going on, that atleast gives a view of what the situation is and in what direction shall you move to fix this issue.
