server wide prefixing www to domains

Sorry for asking something which has probably been asked dozens of times before, tried searching but not 100% sure what I’m looking for.

Have a vps account and wondering if it’s possible to redirect/rewrite all domains and sub-domains to have the www at the beginning

Have seen how to do this with .htaccess for an individual domain, but i have 100’s of domains and subdomains and was hoping there’s away of doing the same by editing the server config.
