Here's an odd problem with Apache

Hardware:-

PC1 is Windows XP with 2 network cards running Apache server
Router is Netgear DG?M (Modem/Router/wireless in one box)

PC1--Router--DSL
¦
Hub
¦
PC2

The IP address of the "network bridge" on PC1 is 192.168.0.4 - Port 80 on the router has been opened to this IP address. After turning on both PC's I can access the web server using the external IP address of my DSL connection (82.x.x.x) as well as the internal IP (192.168.0.4) and they both work fine. After about an hour I can no longer access the website through (82.x.x.x). The external IP address has not changed and a reboot of both computers seems to fix the problem. However this problem keeps recurring. The problem did not happen when PC2 was the webserver and connected to the router directly.

I'm really stuck. I can always get to the webserver from the internal IP address and it is a reboot of the PC's that fix it (not rebooting the router) so I am extremely puzzled.

Any ideas?

leperm,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Are you using DHCP on your internal network?
If so, I'd recommend you configure all devices with static IP addresses.
