How long to keep access_log

When should I start fresh?

Hey eveyrone, well my access_log is getting pretty big. It has 1137494 records. That may not be as big as other peoples access_log files but I was curious as to how big should I let it get?

What has everyone found to be a good time to ditch them. Will I ever need them in the future? I really only use them for AwStats.

I have all my logs set to rotate weekly, but they rarely get larger than 1MB (not a lot of traffic). The defacto standard that I've seen is to rotate them at 50MB, or on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

I use AWStats to parse through logs that are in 50MB chunks, about 20 logs/day, and it has no problems.
