I've finally had enough of this cache system filling up my logs with its faulty requests :(
The UA is Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; BorderManager 3.0) can any kind soul tell me the syntax to put in .htaccess ?

Thanks :)

best to do it by IP address or hostname.

In your .htaccess
deny from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

To do it by Useragent you'd need a script or a mod_rewrite.

Its some kind of proxy cache system so it could come from anywhere.

I'd found a couple of references to user agent based denial so I think it is possible but I can't find the exact syntax. I've never used htaccess to deny before and bordermanager is fairly infrequent so I didnt want to resort to trial and error as it would take ages:)

Someone using this system just visited two pages - bordermanager generated over a hundred error 404's requesting fragments of javascript :(
