SSL Issues

Not sure where to place ssl directives...

I'm runnig Apache 2.0.54 on an Apple computer with OSX 10.3.9. I have been trying to enable my test server for ssl. I understand SSL, I understand the directives, and I have created my own CA and certificates for testing. But I'm not sure where in httpd.conf to place the configuration directives or where to tell a virtual host to respond in HTTPS. Also I am having trouble getting the main server and virtual hosts to respond to port 80 and have one virtual host respond on another port. Is mod_ssl included as part of the Apache 2 disrtribution?, because I could only find versions that were for Apache 1.3.33 for download.
