Here's my issue:
When changing our site from a 'version 1' to a 'version2', it meant going from addresses like this:
mysite.com/sub1/abc/xyz/sub5/folder4/index.htm (really really ugly)
to
mysite.com/index.php?page=sub5
So whenever someone has for example a page bookmarked form the older version of the site, they now get an error 404, which isn't good.
I understood that such a 'redirection' could be done with the rewrite function, but I have no idea on how to do it, and to be honoust all of the searches I tried didn't help a bit.
Can anyone help me out some?, or at least explain to me how to 'set up' such a thing?
