I am not confident on regex or mod rewrite so I need very basic instructions!
I want to add to my htaccess file in one directory instructions to pass one or all html file(s) through the php interpeter. I basically want to add a php section to some existing html files without changing the file names. This is a live site and don't want to mess up the clients stuff so...

Step one:
can you provide the code that would do this with a specific file called example.html

when I find that works then the code that does this with all html files?
Step two:
Code that passes all html files in this directory through the php interpeter.

Thanks in advance...

flycast,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Please review our forum charter [webmasterworld.com]. We're not set up to write code on demand here -- there are simply too many requests to handle.

On a more useful note, we have two current threads running on this subject, and dozens more you can find by using a site search (like Google's advanced search/site search feature).

[One current thread [webmasterworld.com]]
[Example site search [google.com]]

I hope this helps,
Jim
