I am setting up an Apache server in a Linux Fedora 3 environment. I've been running Apache before without problems, although I'm no expert.
I set up the server it seems to run okay. Then I started to run a php installer which requires write access to a directory on the web server. I tried temporarily changing the security to 777 so the browser could write but it gets an access denied for writing the file. I then tried a number of things, changing owners, and security and nothing has worked. I also ran a php script whoami.php to see which user the browser was using but it threw back a blank.
Can anyone help.
