Hi,
I am a very new newbie struggling along here. I have set up a number of subfolders under "C:\Apache\Apache2\htdocs". However, although I can access an index.html page in the htdocs root folder, I can't access any of the subfolders. I receive the following error message in ie: "Not Found
The requested URL /FunGIS/index.html was not found on this server." I have recently reinstalled the Apache server on an xp professional box and, prior to this the server was running fine and I could access all the subfolders.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Mike

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, mapwiz.

So, what was it?

This is what happened:

I deleted Apache 2.0 from an XP pro box - but foolishly didn't think of checking to see if XP had ACTUALLY deleted the server. Silly me! Guess what happened when I reinstalled Apache? Well to cut a long story short, the reinstall ran smoothly but, because I had loaded Apache to a non-standard location the previous version was not seen. So, there was I fiddling with the configuration of a 'dead' server and not touching the 'actual' server at all. So, a day's work went up in smoke!

Yours, with a red face,
Mike

Happens to the best of 'em, my friend. Glad you got it sorted.
