Today i downloaded the "binary installer" (.msi) Apache 2.03. I installed it, (for "domain name" and "server name" i put "localhost" (i was advised to do that)), and it shows in the bottom left that "all services are running", but i can't get to it. if i open a browser and try to go to 127.0.0.1, or localhost, or my IP, it just times out, (or gives a DNS error if i put http:// before them)... the server is not behind a firewall, so what could the problem be? i was assuming that the default apache configuration would be able to run, just basically, and i could configure stuff from there as i found it out, but apparently it doesn't :( is there something that i should do that i don't know about? I'm running windows 2000 pro, by the way.
please help me out here, i'm on a deadline, can't change my plane ticket and other arrangements :(
with version 1.33 it works fine, but when i do the exact. same. thing. with version 2, it doesn't :(
