Hi,

I've got this bit of software which takes a URL and grabs a screenshot. Looks good but it requires X Server, now I did try to install this and it checked for this technology and it couldn't configure because of this.

Can anyone shed some light on X Server? I don't have it, but is there a work around to this?

Cheers

Woldie.

Are you running windows or *NIX?

The "X Server" portion of the software is actually the GUI/display system for *NIX OSes. Have a look at [en.wikipedia.org...] for more info.

But, I'm guessing that this software will take a screenshot of the root window (which includes the desktop and all open windows, etc), recombobulate it into a jpg and ftp/scp/sftp it up to your server where it'll be presented on your site. This is really only possible if you're using a *NIX system with this software. You may want to narrow your search criteria for similar software to include only Windows-based systems.
