access denied script

Hi Everybody,

I was using a script to protect some dirs of my website. These dirs were password protected and only authorised users can logon. I used to create the username/password for the users.

Can any one tell me if any script is available which I can run on my Apache server to protect the dirs. I should be able to create the username/password of the users. User sould not be able to login unless he/she puts in the useer/pass.
