Hi,
I am a newbie. I installed Apache on my system running on Win98. I am connected to the internet via LAN.
I am able to access it from my local PC, but my friends on my same lan are not able to access it.

Is there any way that my webpage be accessable from the internet ie outside my LAN.
I really dont understand anything in the conf. file.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Tabrez!

If you cannot connect to your web server from the LAN side, then you probably have a firewall running on your personal computer (the computer with the Apache server installed and operating).

If you want the server accessible from outside your LAN, you need to open up your network's firewall to allow incoming traffic the ability to request pages from your Apache server.

Hi,
I am back with my same old problems.

I do not know what to do in my Configuration file so as to make my web server accessible from the internet.

Can somebody explain me what is Virtual Host.

Waiting for some replies.
