There's an interesting read here [e-gineer.com] that compares server popularity and growth rates. It (very generally and vaguely) indicates that AOLServer is technically superior to Apache and IIS.

More to the point of your questions, the limited growth of AOL leads me to conclude that support may soon become an issue. The product will likely become unprofitable soon and sales will stop...

I am moving away from AOLserver. The main reason is hosting. There are hundreds of hosting companies who provide Apache/PHP or IIS/ASP for very little cost. There are only a handful of AOLserver/TCL hosts.
