Recompiling Apache with Mod_Perl

I want to recompile my existing Apache installation with mod_perl

I have been wanting to try out Bricolage (www.bricolage.cc) for a while now. It's a fork of Mason. But one of the aspects that has been slowing me down is that it requires that mod_perl be statistically compiled with Apache.

I am not that comfortable with the prospect of doing this because of the potential to crash my sites and loose existing modules. How can you determine what modules your Apache is currently config'd with so you can compile it properly?
