Mod Rewrite with Reverse Proxy and Domino Web Redirect

Hello All,

First time here and hoping to find a resolution to a troubling problem.

Implementing an Apache 2.0.49 Reverse Proxy for a Lotus Domino Server running Web Redirect.

Standard reverse proxy for pathed mail files works great - example: [proxy.domain.com...]
redirects correctly to [real.server.com...]

Unfortunately, mgmt does not want users to have to path to their mail file, instead they want them to use the Web Redirect that accepts user id and password and does a dynamic redirect to their mail file.

Any ideas?

I suppose the answer depends on how the usernames/passwords are implemented, and whether mod_rewrite can access them "at the right time" to make the redirect transparent.

Since the scope of this question extends beyond just Apache server, you may want to ask over in the Website Technology forum if no answer are forthcoming here.
