I usually develop on php/apache/windows, but now I have to change to php/apache/linux. Since I have some knowledge about linux, I install Suse server on vmware so that I can use Dreamweaver on this windows machine and access webserver on vmware. I have no problem setting up vsftp server but I can't make apache server to work.

On Suse vmware server, I can access by typing "http://192.168.44.134", but I can't access my client (IE on windows). It connected but waiting, then failed. I assume that it can connect to server (because ftp server is working fine) but whatever reason it doesn't tranfer page content. This is step I took
1. start httpd in inet.d
2. edit /etc/services
3. edit ServerType inetd in httpd.conf

Are there any apache configuration that I have to concern to make it work? or the problem is not due to httpd.conf? What I have to do next to make it work? I don't care much about security because this is for development only on my machine.

Thanks
