Ok Umm, long story short I see all these topics about how they want a streaming site for either audio or video and need help setting it up. . . I wanna do the opposite. My goal is to, while allow standard downloading, or using a download manager . . PREVENT streaming.

I'm assuming htaccess would be the best way to go about it but . . whatever gets the job done I guess.

I don't think you'd do it through .htaccess.

All you'd have to do is to disable the streaming server.

Uh huh . . and that is done . . how?

also if in fact htaccess wouldnt help.. can someone plz move this topic to a better location?

I guess I should have said that you could use .htaccess, but there are better ways to prevent streaming.

I know that it isn't one of the file types you mentioned, but for Windows Media, here's a link showing you how to do just that:

You'd probably have to talk to your host and ask them what would be best.
