It was a cold, cloudy morning and I'd just finished my first cup of coffee...
I put one ad on one site on one modestly travelled page in the hopes of picking up some spare change for hosting and domain renewals.
Little did I know.
It's a sort-of Herodian tradition. Every now and then Google ban people who have been taking part in Adsense for about a year, roughly. :-) (For those readers of a nervous disposition, I'm only kidding).
I think web_sense's intent by starting the thread was to reassure recent posters who were afraid of getting banned and losing their income.
We started just under a year ago (having had a website since the mid 90s). I accidentally clicked on an ad once, immediately emailed Adsense Support, and got a very nice reply back. My impression is they aren't trigger-happy about banning people who are making an honest living out of online publishing.
AdSense has been a very good to me so far.
Had a 5 year old well established site which I had never bothered to monetize. I decided to go ahead when I was about to retire from my long-time employer. I remember well the shock of the first day earnings. Did not believe it was possible to earn that much.
Added it to 1 of my sites. It made 19 dollars day one. So added it to another ten. Next day 70 dollars. Been between 70 and 190 per day ever since. Sometimes most of it comes from one site, sometimes from another. On average over 15 or so subjects, in differing niches it has evened itself out. If you only had one site though you would think it fluctuated wildly, both visitors, cpc, and overall revenue. Having a bunch of sites shows you that its all down to advertisers budgets etc.
