Just wanted to know how many here from India has not received check till now via standard delivery, its unusual as it should have reached to me in between 3rd to 10th of this month. (Counted a week delay). Usually i receive check with in 7 days of payment posted and its now 16 days.
Anyway i have to wait till 25th of this month before i request reissue of check.

add me to the waiting list... google said they have sent the cheque and i should wait till 25th to reapply for cheque.
i just dont know where so many cheques (for so many ppl here) went if they indeed had sent those...
the goofup was basically because of adwords accounts, but i dont have one,so ... :-?

Well I havent received it too. (Standard delivery). The secure delivery people got it by the 3-4th of this month.

Usually normal delivery is not this slow, wonder whats going on!? They obviously havent sent the cheques on the date listed (27th). Wonder why they still say it has been sent on that date.

Btw I dont use adwords.

I wonder if anyone has received their cheques in India through standard delivery?

Oh and it simply couldn't be a problem with the ultra modern, industry leading Indian postal service could it? It just has to be Google's fault as you say it obviously is.

Hasnīt it occured to you that the fact that all these complaints come from India and not other countries proves that the fault lies in the Indian postal service?

Hey Guys! I too had not received the check, Checks are delaying now they don;t used to earlier, the problem started only after the Mumbai Rains, my best guess will be delay due to some problems with Mumbai Postal Dept. , my frnd 'miguelito' these ppl r not accusing Google.

I certainly hope the earthquake didn't disrupt the postal service or account for lost mail.

I am so sorry about all the death and distruction your countries are experiencing. This has been a bad year for storms and natural disasters.

Dont speak without knowing anything about the Indian postal service. The postal service is excellent in India even though they might not be 'modern', I dont remember losing any mails. Also the postal guy knows us my name, I have received mails even with the address totally screwed up, is that the same case where you live?

First of all adsense isnt my only source of revenue and I have got each and every overseas mail on time from many years. (and have received them for this month too)

There is definetly something wrong with the payments (Im not saying its google's fault, I think they outsource this work) as so many people not getting the cheques is wierd.

Also the earthquake affected pakistan and very northern parts of India. Nowhere near where I stay, so that isnt the reason.

By the way do check out the thread on cheques delayed in Australia on this same board.

hi miguelito

just see all the recent posts on the forum and you will find australia, china, uk, ... and infact some posts for new york (usa) as well...
just get ur facts rt, its definately a google soup. agreed indian postal service will have high load due to festive season starting but they wont loose mail and that too for so many people simultaneously.

Hey theres a huge line of Aussie publishers who are complaining as well. Why do we always have to grumble about our infrastructure? Think of the load that it handles with the amount of funds that the govt allocates them. They do an excellent job IMHO.

In this case anyway its G who is at fault. So far (much more than a year) my checks have been on time.

btw, am also waiting myself, it is indeed late this time.

Seems a definite glitch from Google or its postal outsourcing work providing company.

Doubt if the postal service is to be blamed, as I have received other outstation checks. I wonder if publishers in China etc have got their check.

Postal service is not to be blamed becuase i got my paypal checks (ordinary postal deliveryy) and other normail ordinary post from USA and Australia in last two weeks.

I dont think anyone in India ( standard delivery ) has got it as yet. If someone has got it, please mention.

Received check from paypal last week withdrawn after G date via normal postal service. So postal service not at all in the picture for delay this time.

Well, I hope we get it in the next few days otherwise we might have to wait for more than a month to get it.

Google said -

"If you haven't received your payment processed in September by the 25th of October, please email us at adsense-support@google.com and include the number, date and amount of the check that you would like reissued. We'll credit the payment to your account and include it with any additional earnings in the next payment cycle."

But payment for last month would already have started processing by the 25th, so I think they mean they will add it to next months payment cycle.

My 1 cent:

Dont send request to cancel the "supposedly" lost check and reissue the payment with the next check immediaately after 25th. Please wait till the end of the month.

I was embarassed when I got the "supposedly" lost check, the day after I sent the request. Then I had to send an email again to google requesting them to cancel my earlier request.

Their reply : this time we accept your request, next time we may not.

So dont be hasty in sending the request. Wait till the end of this month atleast. or ask google when is the "last day" before you can request for a repayment (I think it is the 15th of the next month).

Whenever you ask - the first day or the last day - the payment will come with the next check only. So give max. time for the "supposedly" lost check to arrive.

mlalex, exactly what happened to me!

Normally I receive checks on 5th-10th for 2 years, so around Sept 15th I start to worry, and on 25th request to reissue the payment. On Oct 1st the "lost" check arrives without posting date on envelope.

But differently from you, I decide to be nice and go through payment-cancelled, amount-added-to-next-payment-cycle procedure, at this point I still trust Google more than postal service, thinking "well I requested the reissue myself so let it be"... ha ha, naive me. Will happen probably in 3 months? Even if they act today, I will not see July money before Christmas.

So my best advice - wait at least until first days of next month, before asking to reissue the check. And my guess is the problem does not lie in postal service.

Actualy, I wont blame postal service or google or anyone. Postal delays can be due to several reasons.

Better, get the money in your local currency, which is faster and prompt. This lets the local google to process the payment - lesser handling by postal service - your check may not have to travel across continents and countries.
