Are AdSense click trackers permitted as per the AdSense terms?

I'm asking myself: Is it allowed to have a click tracker installed and if the answer is yes, what's a good click tracker for adsense?

It is legal,
I asked Google.
Click trackers are perfectly legal, however - they are not always perfectly accurate.

I use click trackers only for entertainment(!) purposes. for serious analysis, adsense channels are best bet.

Please remember while we can discuss the use of click trackers as it pertains to the AdSense TOS, we unfortunately cannot name specific AdSense tools, as it is against the TOS here.

There was a click tracker developed by WebmasterWorld members on WebmasterWorld threads. Not sure how you would find it though. It was a while ago but I still use it. Possibly we are allowed to link to it?

In any case, click trackers are a good idea. They let you see which of your "blue widgets" pages get the most clicks. Promoting those pages would surely increase the number of clicks.

Click trackers are also a good way to log activity even suspicious activity. Even have mine set up to alert me whenever anything remotely suspicious occurs (multi clicks from same users/return users). Getting an alert I can instantly send Google a heads up for safety sake and ban IP addresses. Also having one that tracks what pages the click comes from and what advertisers they are interested in having analysis scripts to boot helps a ton. By having this log I can also match up the right affiliates if I ever needed add some to those pages in the case of loosing my adsense account or whatever. You can even combine adsense stats with regular site stats to track visitor paths, time on each page, etc. Also the ever handy referrer click % and keyword used in search engines click %.

A good database/php/asp/perl, or whatever your choice, you can create and taylor one to your needs. (Like using php image creation ability for graphs).
