Seasonal Downturn?

I noticed a large downturn in not only traffic to my site, but also the CPCs. My site is about widgets & widget travel.

I haven't had a site about widget travel in the fall or winter season, so I have no history or seasonal effects.

Anyone have a widget travel site?

school is in.. and not too many people travel during the fall.. until the holiday season

What time frame do you define as "holiday season"?

I think he means around the end of the year.

FYI I have a number of travel sites and I believe I am seeing a seasonal upturn.

On my European travel site, there's usually a steady rise in traffic and earnings from January through midsummer, with no significant drop until mid-fall. November and December tend to be quiet, with AdSense remaining stronger than affiliate sales in the low season.

However, some topics are more seasonal than others. I think you can safely figure that New York or London will have less seasonal variation than Helsinki or a ski resort, for example, and the high or low season for Baltic cruising will be different than the high or low season for Caribbean cruising. The more editorially diverse your site is, the less you'll be affected by seasonal swings. (Not that there's anything wrong with seasonal swings, as long as you're prepared for them.)

Odd, I had a 20% decrease in CPCs last week after a very consistent lat few months.
