I had my first > 100 (119) unique visitors yesterday but only made 55 cents. Do I have to worry about CTR, CPC, etc.. on my site. Maybe it was mostly search engine traffic? Or me?

Also, what log-programs do you guys use. My host provides modlogan and webalizer, which are ok but I'm sure there are better programs available.

No need to worry just yet - your figures are still very low.

Keep up with the content - 1,000 uniques a day is a good target for you now, then you can start playing with Ad positioning and tweaking.

For some subjects 55 cents per 100 visitors is to be expected - finance or some specialized niche would pay a lot better.
Right now you need more time, links and traffic.

I use metatraffic for my stats, it is pretty comprehensive, easy to implement, and free to try. Cheap too if you decide to buy

it's freeware, easy to install, can be configured to ignore your own visits and offers a ton more cool features.

I'm not at all happy with my hosts stats reporting software. It counts spiders as unique visitors and there's no way to get it to ignore these.

Heck, 55 cents per day is about on par with one of my sites, and it gets on average about 1,500 page views a day. Granted, it's in a very low paying category and is mostly photo albums.

55 cents on 100 visitors would sound good to me!

for high value clicks, they usually run some checks and credit your account much later - click dumps, your CPM and CTR will suddenly increase on a very low traffic day

You can probably count on 1-3 clicks for your 100 visitors on average.

55 cents is good.

I have a new website that just got 3 clicks yesterday for 8 cents! I thought the minimum you could earn was nickel. Live and learn. I am still trying to figure out how 3 = 8 cents for the field. Beats me.

Beats me.

2 x 4c clicks and a PSA.

I have no PSA on my site. Sorry, when I said new, I meant new because I have done little to promote/build it past initial stage. The website has been online with adsense for about 5-6 months now. :D

All ads are showing fine.

Maybe: 3 - 3- 2?

I thought 4-5 cents was min. Who knows lol

I have no PSA on my site.

Everybody gets PSA's from time to time - thats not within your control.

Your site is not always viewed from your country of origin, and google uses geographic targetting.

One of my sites averages 110 uniques and I normally get $10 a day from this. I am starting to think this is pretty good.

Just need more traffic!

PSA = Public Service Ad (charity based adverts served when no relavent advert is found)

Everybody gets PSA's from time to time - thats not within your control.

Even if you're using the alternate advert option?

Urchin is the king... its realy awesome...

I think if you can make 100 uniques/day consistantly your revenue will jump up.

Thanks

ah ok thanks for the info.

I use the ad filter and thought there were no PSA's. I have never seen them past the opening.
