I contacted Google AdSense support for changing individual payee account. They advised me to close this account and reapply for new one. But i am bit concern, whether this will affect on my current earning which is steady? the current account is more than two year old.

Any advice/opinion?

So this means we have to wait until ASA or other senior member reply who might have gone through this transition.

You are only required to change to a new account if you live in the US and they have to send data to the IRS. If you are living abroad you can simply ask them to change the payee name and they'll ask you if you have any US activities.
I think a new account will probably boost your earnings before smart pricing levels it back to your previous ecpm. However, if you have CPM ads on your website the earnings may continue to be on a heightened level for sometime.

This is not true, I tried that before and they wanted the delete/apply again process.

Yes. delete and apply again. but main concern is does this will effect on current earnings?

I asked them to change payee, from a person to a business name and there was no issues at all. All done in two emails.

I had similar easy experience as nitro.

I had a personnel account since early 2004 and in jan 2005 I created a company. I was allowed to activate the new company account and KEEP the personal account. I was also able to change the pub Id on the webpages at my leasure. There was no lost revenue.

Also, new account did not seem to increase or decrease EPC.

I changed from company to personal. It was a very smooth process (and my first day in the new account was my highest paying day ever)

One thing to think about is you will have no access to stats or payment info from your previous account - so save these somewhere before you move accounts.

So why this type of double standard by AdSense? Is it due to we are outside of USA?

Any update from other seniors? i just realised YES as we are in India, they might want us to close first account and apply for new. They have their present in India so they must respect Indian Laws too.

But the actual question was, does this move will effect on current earnings?

Thanks

Okay.. I did post and tell you what happened to me. Here's a snippet from the email when I asked G the same question.

Depending on your tax status, we may be required to report your earnings to the IRS. If you have certified that you do not have US activities by completing the ‘Foreign publisher with no U.S. Activities’ form, we are not required to report your revenue to the IRS.

However, if you have US activities and have filled out a Form W-9, W-8, or 8233, we may be required to report your income to the IRS. Because we are unable to accommodate multiple tax IDs for earnings accrued to a single account, if you wish to maintain separate tax records, you will need to close your existing account and submit a new application.

Considering what others have said - some shifted to a new account - some re-named the old one. No changes to earnings were noticed.
