Horizontal AdLinks placement question

Right now, my site currently looks like this:

-----Logo-----
Home - Page 1 - Page 2 - About Us, etc (contents, basically, but horizontal)
then a horizontal line
then the horizontal AdLinks, blended in the same color as the links above.

Do you think it would turn away too many visitors if I swapped MY links with the AdLinks? Would people be angry that the ads come first?

Also, does anyone have other recommendations for getting a better CTR with this horizontal link layout?

Thanks.

A small minority might be offended by an onslaught of google ads, but most web surfers will happily click away. My format is:

logo
adsense search box
horizonal ad links
content

and I do well with no complaints. I see it as a service with the links providing more content than I could produce on my own.

Are the links that lead to other areas of your site organized vertically or horizontally?

I don't like the horizontal adlinks. Tried on several sites with different designs and vertical version beats it in the air.

Before sticking with it, test both formats.

Is it necessary to do a separate application or change a setting somewhere for AdLink ads to display?

I've tried to place an AdLink ad to test it, but it isn't showing up. The regular Adsense ads display correctly.
