Wy on earth did you not remove your adsense code before relinquishing control? That's like selling your car but leaving your license plates on it.

Hmmm...now being in the UK I don't get this joke since our vehicles have licence plates for life unless one uses personal plates which can be transferrd from one vehicle to the next, nor does it matter where one lives in the UK!

Do I assume that you are personally allocated a licence plate for life rather than the vehicle hence the irony in the joke?

I have noticed in US films, when chasing the baddies, they always mention the specific State of the licence plates as thought this solves the crime or the baddies to be more evident.

Does this mean you cannot live in one State with another State's licence plates?

Exactly. If I permanently move to another state in the US, I will have to change plates when I re-register.
Registry is annual in most/all states.

When a car is sold in California (probably all states) the plate and # go with the car, not the owner. -Larry

If I were to sell my car here in Nevada, I would keep the plates and the new owner has to put his/her own plates on the car. I can either put my plates on a new vehicle or relinquish them back to the state.

it happens, in an incredibly wide variety of ways.

You should get out more Larry, CA is not all states :)

In KS the plates belong to the owner, not the car, took me a while to get used to CA's wacky ways.

This is also applied to most of the provinces (if not all) in Canada.

Your AdSense code belongs to you only. You can use it for other sites you own or send a note to Google to cancel it.

Is that really a problem?

Although the new owner should have enough knowledge to get rid of your ads, to feel safe, warn the new owner that if s/he is not willing to make you free money, they have to change the code with their own or completely remove the ad blocks. For whatever reason if they don't do that, they've been warned and you get the clicks.
