Okay, so apparently I never took advantage of Adsense's feature to group your earnings and impressions by Channels. So I was screwing around with the option. For whatever reason, I chose to look at All Channels. Thats when I noticed it:

My earnings when I look at All Channels and my actual earnings received via checks is SUBSTANTIALLY different. In other words, one month I received a check for less than half the amount that it states under "All Channels".

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Some of your channels are double counting, for example URL channels and Custom Channels counting the same click twice..

If you display channel stats, you can double-dip, triple-dip, etc. depending upon how you have set up your channels.

Example (using www.example.com):
1) set up a URL channel for www.example.com
2) set up a URL channel for www.example.com/stuff
3) set up a ad channel for the size ad, say ad300x250, and put it on every page.
Now, if someone clicks on the Adsense ad on www.example.com/stuff/index.htm, you'll get 3 clicks and the dollars for 3 shown if you display your channel stats -- once for ad300x250, once for www.example.com/stuff and once for www.example.com

In other words, you can AND WILL double, triple or better your "report" if you are effectively using channels. Use "Aggregate Data" to see the real numbers.
