Considering it's PRIVATE and requires a LOGIN, I think Google Terms and Conditions state NO. However, don't take my word for it, check with Google support - only they can advise you in such situations.

Not exactly sure what the ads would target, seems odd to me.

As incrediBILL said contact Google, that's the only way you will be sure. FWIW pages behind a logon can have AdSense on them I believe.

I would say that it will not be allowed.

I'm not sure how the Google AdSense bot could visit the page if it required a login anyway, unless perhaps there were some access rules setup explicitly to give it access to all pages which would likely be a pretty gigantic security hole.

And without the bot being able to visit I am pretty sure you'll only see PSAs if you see anything at all. :-)

Thanks all for your input. I checked into the TOS again - no adsense for pages that need password-access.

Thanks again.

I just had a look at the Terms and Conditions and Program Policies found nothing that says this. Am I missing something?

By letting it in using something like an if statement with CGI.HTTP_USER_AGENT contains "Mediapartners-Google"

I do believe you would be opening up your private pages to anyone smart enough to spoof the mediabot ID.

I looked again and it doesn't appear this is expressly prohibited although there are about 3 rules it theoretically breaks.

What I'd be curious about is how long before your AdSense account would be CANCELLED for "invalid" clicks as the same people using web based email would keep clicking on the ads and would look highly suspicious.

Give it a try and let us know how it works for you :)

It's a 3rd party hosted webmail so I don't think tinkering with .htaccess is going to happen, it's an amusing exercise in futility at best.

I did and it words. If I get kicked out everyone here will be the first to know :)

Prolific said here - [webmasterworld.com...] that it’s possible, but you have to ask AdSense.
