I have a tv show fan site with about 1300 uniques/day. How much should I be earning from adsense? Thanks.

I guess he is joking.

I would say in today condition with smart pricing
- 50 USD/day sounds more reasonable

...Or less, because fan sites earn little in general and 1300 uniques a day isn't large for that niche. If you can't move away from ads directly related to the TV show and toward ads peripherally related(i.e., this show is for people who are mad about scooters--here are some scooter ads), you may make only dollars a day.

It's best to try it.

But I think it won't be much higher than $10 a day. Entertainment ads don't pay a lot on average and 1300 unique visitors a day isn't much.

If you make $2-$3/day you will be doing well.
Your mileage may vary depending on ad placement and if your site is a forum or not.

Hmm...should I continue this depressing trend and say 50 cents a day? ;-)

It really depends on your niche...some are high-paying, while some simply aren't.

Fan sites have usual

low CTR
low EPC

giving a low CPM.

You talk from 1500 uniques a day. Do You mean visitors, which maybe visit 1..10 pages per visit or page impressions?

If it's page impressions, $2 per day would be great.

I had a fan site with adsense, I opted for remove it due the extremely low earnins and used the space to redesing my site.

I guess try to squeeze 10 - 15 USD.
And after that go higher.
If it is indeed unique VISITORS
you can do it higher.

It is 1300+ unique visitors, and I get about 4000+ page impressions each day.

haha...$50...lol. Buddy, fansites are the absolute lowest rung in terms of adsense ads...really not worth the time unless you are a really big fan of the show and really get enjoyment out of working on it. You will be LUCKY to make $2. LUCKY.

I would guess $1 to $2 a day.
The biggest problem will be the ads. I have a single author site and the ads are the same on most pages, boring for the visitor.

My guess would be that your site would be dominated by DVD ads on every page.

How much are you earning?

With a bit of work you should be able to get an average click through rate, but the overall result may still be low depending on the type of adverts served.

About $250/day.

If you want to make money with a fan site, there are three things I can think of that might work:

1. Have information or media that no one else has, and charge a subscription fee to view it.

2. Make pages on things that are tangentially related to the original show or book, like the scooter example above.

3. Treat your fan site as a "traffic catcher," and try to funnel your visitors toward more lucrative sites. For example, if most of your visitors are males aged 16-25, create a site on a topic that demographic likes and put prominent links on your fan site.

AdSense isn't much good for fan sites, but there are still plenty of things you can do with those eyes once you have them.

Fan sites are great for getting listed in directories and then passing the PR onto a site for making money. The $2/day will easily pay the hosting bill.
